Exterior Restoration
Purpose: Defines the exterior restoration line: what it covers, how it pairs with roofing after storms, and how to qualify these leads. Pete owns crew execution; Tara scopes and prices; the insurance-heavy nature of this line means everyone touching it needs to know the boundaries.
What we do
- Siding. Repair and replacement, vinyl and fiber-cement.
- Gutters. Seamless gutter replacement, downspouts, gutter repair after storm or ice damage.
- Soffit and fascia. Repair and replacement, usually found and scoped during roofing or siding work.
- Exterior paint. Whole-exterior repaints and paint tied to siding or trim repair. We do not sell interior-only painting.
- Storm and insurance restoration. Combined-scope work (roof plus siding plus gutters) after hail or wind events, documented for insurance claims.
Where this line sits in the business
Exterior Restoration is the natural companion to Roofing Services. A hailstorm rarely damages only the roof, so Tara writes combined estimates with clean line items an adjuster can follow. When an emergency call reveals siding or gutter damage alongside a roof leak, the permanent-repair estimate should cover the whole scope, not just the leak.
Insurance work: the rules
Insurance restoration is a large share of this line and has its own guardrails:
- We document damage with CompanyCam photos and a written scope. The homeowner submits the claim; we do not file claims for them.
- Never tell a homeowner what insurance "will" cover. We describe damage; adjusters decide coverage.
- Never inflate a scope to absorb a deductible. Dave's standing rule; no exceptions, and it ends the conversation with any customer who asks.
- Supplements (scope items found after work starts) go through Tara with photos before anything is communicated to the adjuster.
For how these customers think and what they worry about, read Insurance Restoration Customer.
Qualifying an exterior lead
- Storm-driven or wear-driven? Storm leads follow the insurance path. Wear-and-tear leads are straightforward retail estimates.
- Partial or whole-side? Matching aged siding is often impossible; set expectations early that a repair may not blend, and whole-side replacement may be the honest recommendation.
- Paint-only requests: exterior repaints are fine on their own; interior-only painting is a decline per What We Do Not Do.
- Property managers: light-commercial exterior work is welcome. Multi-building recurring maintenance contracts are not something we currently offer.
Pricing follows the standard process: free estimate, ranges only until Tara has seen the property or reviewed photos, estimate delivered within 3 business days of the site visit. See Pricing and Estimating Rules.
Sample phrasing
- "Hail usually hits more than the roof. When we come out we'll document the siding and gutters too, so you have the full picture for your insurance company."
- "I want to be upfront: matching ten-year-old vinyl is hit or miss. We'll show you the options and the trade-offs at the estimate."
